The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill – Second Reading

We have previously reported on the introduction of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill (aka Martyn’s Law).

Yesterday, Monday the 14^th October, the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill completed another step along the journey to becoming an Act.  The bill completed the “Second Reading” stage in the House of Commons and will now move forward to the “Committee Stage” which will commence from the 29^th October.

The “Second Reading”  is the first opportunity for MPs to debate the main principles of the Bill.

The “Committee stage” is where detailed examination of the Bill takes place.
